FIDELITY REWARDED

With New Year resolutions in the air, a small New Forest restaurant with rooms has resolved to reward fidelity next month in the run-up to St Valentine’s Day.
Provided that the Marriage Certificate is produced as evidence, couples having Dinner at The Nurse’s Cottage in Sway will receive a discount on the meal equivalent to the number of years of wedded bliss.
“Our clientele is wide-ranging although,” says Chef/Proprietor Tony Barnfield, “we particularly attract the older generation who appreciate our very traditional values in service and cuisine. Even the background music is nostalgic, with old recordings of pianist Charlie Kunz and Orchestras led by the likes of George Melachrino proving particularly popular. We fully expect to be giving 50% discounts or more in some cases.”
The restaurant is open seven days a week but, as it can only seat 18 or so, advance booking is essential. The special offer applies to Dinner bookings from Thursday 1 to Tuesday 13 February.
