New Forest West MP Desmond Swayne proved he was a politician with a heart when he attended a supporters’ coffee morning in the village of Sway with his wife Moira. Held at The Nurse’s Cottage restaurant with rooms, the main event was a cookery demonstration by chef/proprietor Tony Barnfield.
As well as giving away some of the secrets of a House Speciality dish of Guinea Fowl Breast in a tarragon, white wine and cream sauce, Tony had prepared a seasonally romantic version of the restaurant’s popular mushroom dish. Topping it all off, instead of the standard pastry case, was a puff pastry heart, and the Swaynes were first to taste.
The verdict? Moira is delighted to have Desmond back after several months’ tour of duty with the Territorial Army in Iraq, even more so as this St Valentine’s Day he truly proved to be a politician with a heart!
