Established in 1992, this is one of the New Forest's most highly acclaimed places to wine, dine and relax, enjoying an enviable reputation for comfort, good food and warm hospitality.

Selected universally by the UK's leading hospitality guides, the ground-floor accommodation comprises well-appointed ensuite Twin, Single and Double Rooms. Individually designed, the bedrooms are named after some of the District Nurses who lived here during the last century (some dates are approximate):
1913-18 Liddell (pronounced Liddle) is the Small Double room,
1918-27 Lloyd is the Superior Twin/Kingsize Double room,
1927-37 Southerden is also a flexible room and can be configured as Twin or Kingsize Double,
1937-67 Lipscombe is the Single room,
and 1967-83 Gibson, the Cottage's original master bedroom, is our standard Double.

Facilities include central heating (air-conditioning in Lloyd and Liddell), direct-dial “Big Button” telephones, remote-controlled colour television with Freeview and video (dvd in Lloyd and video/dvd in Southerden), clock cd/radio, hair dryer, trouser press, refrigerator with fresh milk, fruit juices, mineral water and snacks, tea/coffee making facilities, fresh fruit, biscuits - and fresh flowers or plants are never far away!

Bathrooms comprise bath/shower (shower only in Liddell, shower and bath in Lloyd), washbasin and toilet, with complimentary toiletries and coordinated luxury towels and face flannels.

The accommodation has been assessed under the National Accessible Scheme and this is the only serviced accommodation business in South-East England to have achieved success in all three standards - Mobility (M1), Hearing Impairment (H1) and Visual Impairment (V1). The Restaurant is fully accessible to wheelchair users, including toilet facilities. We were proud to win the Judges' Award for Excellence in Continuing Commitment to the Interests of Disabled People in the Southampton Centre for Independent Living Awards 2005.
